A thought on redeeming the time:
True Success
To redeem the time, we must be obedient
to God. One thing He tells us to do is go and preach. We are
not told to “win them.” That’s God’s responsibility. People
don’t put their faith in Christ because we are charming or entice them
to believe or because of the convincing arguments we have used. We
must realize if we “win” someone to Christ, that individual is probably
not saved. Oh, he might be convicted, embarrassed, or ashamed, but
probably not saved. Only God can save.
So many Christians are operating under
the misconception that success in God’s eyes is the number of people we
lead to Jesus Christ. God clearly tells us to go and to preach.
Our job is to be faithfully obedient to Him, leaving the results in His
hands. Success in God’s eyes is sharing our faith and living a life
showing evidence of His love. That’s what redeeming the time is all
about. We are to so live before an unbelieving world that they will
notice something different about us and realize it is God’s love flowing
from us.
“And He said unto them, Go ye into
all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature” (Mark 16:15).
O Lord, may I faithfully share Your love
with others. May I not be sidetracked by numbers or schemes.
May I stay focused on presenting You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
